Nowadays, the bissu transvestite priests use the term ‘gamaru’to designate the production of a whistling sound with a finger on the rim of a ceramic bowl, considered to invite the divinities to descend to earth (maddewata), an action well known in Tibetan Tantrism (Hamonic 1987: 36).

Bagi pendeta-pendeta wadam Bissu zaman sekarang, “gamaru” adalah suatu kegiatan yang menganggap siulan yang dihasilkan oleh perputaran sebuah jari di pinggir mangkuk keramik mengundang para dewa untuk turun ke bumi (maddewata).
