The term ‘gelong’ designates the songs of the maro and bugi’ rituals. The words of these songs are parts of several sets, narrative or lyrical. The gelong lines are often grouped in tercets of octosyllables; less often in distiches. The triad as semantic and syntactic structure is characteristic of the gelong.

Le terme « gelong » désigne les chants des rituels maro et bugi’. Les paroles de ces chants relèvent de plusieurs ensembles, narratifs ou lyriques. Les vers de gelong sont souvent regroupés par tercets et moins souvent par distiques d’octosyllabes. La triade comme structure sémantique et syntaxique est propre au gelong. (French)
