An effigy is made for each ritual: in the West, a representation of the deceased; in the East, a female effigy (anak dara). In both cases, they can be returned to the vegetation at the end of the celebration.

Dans les deux rituels, une effigie est construite. Ces représentations, du défunt (tau-tau) dans un cas, et d’une femme dans l’autre (anak dara) seront placées dans la nature à la fin du rituel. (French)

Dalam kedua ritus itu, sebuah patung dibuat. Wakil dari mendiang dalam yang ritus pertama, sedangkan patung gadis (anak dara) dalam ritus yang kedua. Dalam kedua hal tersebut, mereka kemudian dipindahkan ke alam pada akhir pesta. (Indonesian)
