A local tradition, peculiar to the region of Buntao’ and rarely performed, the marakka has practically disappeared. Today it is performed by one to four people: one or two singers and one or two flautists (there used to be a violin geso'-geso' as well). The musicians play at the guests’ arrival and formerly could guide the procession accompanying the deceased from the house to the ceremonial field.

Tradition localisée, propre à la région de Buntao’, le marakka a quasi disparu.
