The narrative structure, narrating a deceased’s life and his death, is always made up of five large parts, common to each region (Veen 1966). Nevertheless, certain hagiographies are more comprehensive and developed than others. A matrix exists, modulated according to the deceased’s rank.

La structure narrative, relative à la narration de la vie et la mort d’un défunt, se compose toujours de cinq grandes parties, communes à chaque région (Veen 1966). Néanmoins, certaines hagiographies sont plus complètes et développées que d’autres. Il existe une matrice modulée selon le rang du défunt. (French)

Struktur naratif, yang berkaitan dengan narasi tentang kehidupan dan kematian seorang mendiang, selalu terdiri dari lima bagian besar dan selalu ditemukan dalam setiap versi daerah (Veen, 1966). Meskipun demikian, ada wadah riwayat hidup tertentu yang tampak lebih lengkap dan lebih kaya bila dibandingkan dengan yang lain.
