PublicThe female dance gellu’ is performed throughout the afternoon to the sound of the drum; the dancers, stem family members, parade with bundles of bank notes in their hair (toding) – a demonstration of the wealth of the family. At the end each will take back her money.
Tout l’après midi, la danse féminine gellu’ a lieu au son du tambour ; les danseuses, membres de la famille, défilent avec des brochettes de billets de banque dans les cheveux (toding), manifestation de la richesse de la famille. À la fin, chacun reprendra ses billets. (French)
Sepanjang siang, pertunjukan tarian gellu’ dalam iringan gendang; para penari, anggota keluarga, beriring-iringan dengan lembaran-lembaran uang dalam jepitan bambu yang ditusukkan pada rambut (toding), yang merupakan lambang kekayaan keluarga. Pada akhir tarian, tiap orang akan mengambil uangnya kembali. (Indonesian)
