Five men sing the gelong bate in front of the house, before the surrounding villagers and the stem family members. The rite is called unnoto gelong ‘touching the gelong precisely’ (Nooy-Palm 1986: 35).

Devant les villageois alentour et les membres de la grande famille (rapu), cinq hommes chantent le gelong bate devant la maison. Le rite se nomme unnoto gelong « toucher le gelong précisément » (Nooy-Palm 1986 : 35). (French)

Di depan orang kampung sekitar dan anggota keluarga, lima orang menyanyikan gelong bate depan rumah. Ritus ini disebut unnoto’ gelong, “memulai gelong sebagaimana mestinya” (Nooy-Palm, 1986: 35). (Indonesian)
