The samparan simbong is the praise addressed by an officiant and the singers to the sponsor of the bua' kasalle celebration. Half-chanted, half-sung, it was only performed by the officiant (to minaa). The narration was declaimed, but each line at the end of a stanza was sung in the simbong style. The content of the poem varied, depending on the status of the house. It was recorded at Ne’ Ambaa’s house.

Après les présentations, l’officiant enchaîne sur un long panégyrique dans lequel il loue le commanditaire du rituel. Cette louange adressée par l’officiant et ses chanteurs est un acte rhétorique par lequel est établie la suprématie du commanditaire, propriétaire de la maison ancestrale. (French)
