[A.2.2.1 P0_27 A-2] Ornement soliste à la seconde, [A.2.2.1 P0_27 A-2] Soloist ornament in seconds. (anglais), [A.2.2.1 P0_27 A-2] Ornamen Solis pada sekon.
The individual ornamentation is done by a soloist who ‘sings between the voices’ a second above or below the chorus (mangindo’i). He embroiders, ‘he directs by leaving the common road, he branches off to make the sound more pleasant’. This form of counterpoint in second is called ma'garente ‘quivering, vibrating, pleasant to hear’ or ma’kirrokan ‘rubbing or grating sound’. This procedure allows several melodies to be heard. (anglais)
