Pendant les premières funérailles, plusieurs arbres sont plantés, dont le grand arbre casuarine (buangin) et le palmier à sucre (induk), auxquels seront attachés les buffles pour leur sacrifice. Ils sont appelés simbuang layuk « nobles piquets ».

During the first funeral, several trees are planted, including the great casuarina tree (buangin) and the sugar palm (induk), which the buffaloes are attached to for their sacrifice. They are called simbuang layuk ‘noble stakes’. (anglais)

Pada upacara pemakaman yang pertama, beberapa pohon ditancapkan di tengah halaman. Pohon-pohon tersebut berupa pohon eru (buangin dengan istilah ilmiah Casuarina equisetifolia) dan enau (induk), tempat ditambatkannya kerbau-kerbau korban. Pohon-pohon ini dikenal dengan istilah simbuang layuk, “pancang raya”. (indonésien)
