À l’intérieur de la maison, l’officiant funéraire (to mebalun) élève le couffin du défunt, puis construit un système d’évacuation : un tuyau de bambou reliant le corps à la terre passe au travers du plancher de la maison. Il s’agit de recueillir symboliquement tous les liquides du mort (ma’pasusu). Le veuf (ou la veuve) qui n’avait pas le droit de descendre de la maison depuis la mort de son conjoint, peut alors descendre. Inside the house, the funeral officiant (to mebalun) raises the deceased’s basket before constructing an evacuation system: a bamboo pipe joining the body to the ground through the floor of the house. The aim is to collect symbolically all the corpse’s liquids (ma'pasusu). The widower (or widow), who, from the point of death of his spouse, did not have the right to come down from the house, can now descend. Di dalam rumah, pemangku adat upacara pemakaman to mebalun, mengangkat keranjang mendiang, kemudian membuat sistem evakuasi: sebuah saluran bambu yang menghubungkan jenazah dengan tanah, dengan melintasi lantai rumah. Hal ini bertujuan untuk menadah secara simbolis seluruh danur jenazah yang membusuk (ma’pasusu). Dengan demikian, duda (janda) yang dilarang turun dari rumah sejak kematian istri (suami), diperkenankan untuk turun dari rumah. Setelah berganti pakaian, duda (janda) mengikuti ritus penyucian.
