The name of the first funeral celebration is ‘finding death at the same moment’ (ma'puli). The action unrolls in three places: 1) the deceased’s house 2) the courtyard – where the buffaloes are slaughtered and the meat shared out, the site for speeches, dancing and singing 3) and lastly, the megalithic field where buffaloes are also slaughtered and divided, and where the ceremonial trident mast is planted. The celebration lasts five to seven nights.

Les premières funérailles sont nommées par les officiants ma’puli « trouver la mort au même moment ». L’action se joue dans trois lieux : d’une part, la maison du défunt ; d’autre part, la cour, lieu d’abattage des buffles, de partage de la viande, lieu de profération, de danse et de chant ; et, enfin, le champ mégalithique où sont également abattus et partagés les buffles, et où est planté le mât cérémoniel trident. La fête dure de cinq à sept nuits. (French)

Upacara pemakaman tahap pertama, disebut “mati bersama” (ma’puli). Kegiatan yang berkaitan dengan upacara ini berlangsung pada tiga tempat: 1). Rumah mendiang, 2). Halaman, sebagai tempat berlangsungnya penyembelihan kerbau, pembagian daging, tempat pemberitahuan kepada khalayak ramai, tempat menari dan menyanyi. 3). Dan, akhirnya, arena megalit, tempat penyembelihan dan pembagian daging kerbau, serta merupakan tempat ditanamkannya tiang upacara bermata tiga. Pesta dapat berlangsung selama lima sampai tujuh hari.
