Menés par leurs officiants respectifs, les grands chœurs féminins (dandan) et masculins (simbong) arrivent dans la cour. Entouré par ses chanteurs, chaque officiant fait l’éloge de la maison et du commanditaire de la fête. Les chanteuses sont assises sur un banc rituel (laang-laang) du côté de la maison tandis que les chanteurs sont debout, dos contre le grenier à riz. Les femmes officiées étaient autrefois au bout du rang. Le soir, tous les chœurs réunis dans la cour chantent toute la nuit durant. Ils se répondent alternativement. Assis dans les habitations provisoires, les invités chantent le serang mundan. Dans la maison, les rites se pousuivent : les officiants marchent sur les braises, les invocations s’enchaînent.

The large female (dandan) and male (simbong) choruses arrive in the courtyard led by their respective officiants. Surrounded by his singers, each officiant praises the house and the sponsor of the celebration. Ditemani oleh para pemangku adat yang berhubungan langsung dengan mereka, kelompok-kelompok kor perempuan (dandan), dan lelaki (simbong) masuk ke dalam arena. Dikelilingi oleh para penyanyinya, setiap pemangku adat mengumandangkan syair-syair sanjungannya pada rumah dan penyandang dana pesta. Para penyanyi wanita duduk di atas bangku ritual laang-laang, yang terletak di depan rumah. Sedangkan para penyanyi lelaki berdiri membelakangi lumbung padi. Pada zaman dahulu, para pelaksana adat wanita berada pada ujung barisan. Malam hari, keseluruhan kor bertemu dalam arena untuk bernyanyi sepanjang malam. Mereka bersahut-sahutan. Duduk dalam pemondokan sementara, para tamu menyanyikan lagu serang mundan. Dalam rumah, ritus berlanjut: para pemangku adat berjalan di atas bara api, sedangkan pemanjatan doa tetap dilaksanakan secara berkesinambungan. (indonésien)
