On the eve of the celebration the singers go with the officiant to the waterfall to offer betel and meat to the water divinities (including the rain divinity, Dewa Pong Pirik-Pirik) imploring them for beautiful voices. They call upon the spirit of the simbong, possessed by the divinity of the waterfall, because the unity of the song comes from the waterfall. The divinity meets the stream of water, and where it falls they entreat it to give them a good voice. All the divine guardians of the waterfall, known for their beautiful voices, came to eat the chicken meat. This is how the singers summon the divinities to the celebration and invoke their protection.

La veille de la fête, les chanteurs se rendent avec l’officiant à la cascade pour faire une offrande de bétel et de viande aux divinités de l’eau (dont la divinité de la pluie, Dewa Pong Pirik-Pirik) en implorant que leurs voix soient belles. L’esprit du simbong, possédé par la divinité de la cascade était invoqué l’unité du chant venant de la cascade. La divinité rencontre le courant de l’eau, et là où chute l’eau, les chanteurs l’implorent pour obtenir une belle voix. Toutes les divinités gardiennes de la chute d’eau, reconnues pour leurs belles voix, venaient manger la viande de poulet. Sehari sebelum pesta, para penyanyi bersama pemangku adat datang ke air terjun untuk mempersembahkan sirih dan daging bagi para dewa air (yakni dewa hujan, dewata Pong Pirik-Pirik). Dalam kesempatan ini, mereka memohon agar dikaruniai suara yang indah pada saat pertunjukan yang akan datang. Roh simbong, yang dijiwai oleh dewa air terjun, dimohon untuk hadir di tengah mereka. Pada air terjun itu, mereka menemukan kesempurnaan musik. Sang dewata telah bersatu dengan arus air. Oleh karena itu, pada tempat terjadinya air terjun itulah, mereka memanjatkan doa untuk dikaruniai suara yang indah. Seluruh dewa pelindung air terjun itu, yang memiliki suara yang indah, datang menyantap daging ayam. Dalam kesempatan itu, para penyanyi, selain memohon kehadiran para dewa tersebut dalam pesta, mereka juga mengharapkan perlindungan. (Indonesian)
