Les grands rituels ont lieu sur des rizières asséchées à l’extérieur des villages, soit au sud-ouest, soit au nord-est, du côté du Soleil Levant (rites de vie) ou du Soleil Couchant (rites de mort). Des deux côtés l’organisation spatio-temporelle est identique.

The highest rituals take place in a dried paddy field outside the villages, either to the southwest or the northeast, on the side of the rising sun (rites of life) or the setting sun (rites of death). Both sides evince the same spatio-temporal organisation. (anglais)

Ritus-ritus besar berlangsung di tengah sawah yang dikeringkan di luar kampung, di sebelah barat daya, pada arah matahari terbenam (ritus yang berkaitan dengan kematian), ataupun pada bagian timur laut, sebelah matahari terbit (ritus yang berkaitan dengan kehidupan).
