Schola Cantorum

Public

The Schola Cantorum is a private institution founded by Charles Bordes with the collaboration of Alexandre Guilmant and Vincent d'Indy. It began its activities in 1896 and is still active today.

This collection contains a list of students who studied at the Schola Cantorum. Most of their records have been obtained from notebooks of the Vincent d'Indy Collection at the Bibliothèque national de France. These notebooks contain handwritten information about classes, and the surnames of professors and students. Other sources include the book "La Schola cantorum : son histoire depuis sa fondation jusqu'en 1925" and the Schola Cantorum's music journal "Les tablettes de la Schola".
