Several members of the family are attributed a role and a name during the ritual. Some will retain this name for the rest of their life. Certain women from the family (to tumbang, to mangria barang) must observe several prohibitions: they must stay inside the house, not set a foot on the ground, sleep for several days on on a high tower etc. Noble girls, virgins, dressed in yellow, are under the authority of the officiants and other older ‘officiated’ women (tumbang) also in yellow. All these women are treated as young goddesses (Nooy-Palm 1986: 12). (anglais)
