The art of the flute is displayed on two occasions: it is played solo to accompany the voice of the marakka at the funerals, and in quartet for the ritual for expelling smallpox. For the latter the soloists display a remarkable dexterity – as much in the slow passages as in the fast.

L’art de la flûte est dévoilé à deux occasions : elle est jouée en solo pour accompagner la voix du marakka lors des funérailles, et en quatuor, lors du rituel d’éviction de la variole. Pour ce dernier, les solistes font preuve d’une dextérité remarquable, tant dans la lenteur que dans la vitesse. (French)

Seni suling tampak dalam dua kesempatan: suling itu dimainkan dalam solo untuk mengiringi suara marakka dalam pemakaman-pemakaman, dan dalam kuartet pada saat ritus untuk menyingkirkan penyakit cacar.
