A buffalo is immolated. The corpse is taken down from the house and placed on the catafalque to the west. It is surrounded by wailing women and some men dancing the badong. Then, departure for the grave and entombment: the participants eat the meat of the sacrificed pig on the spot before the tomb is opened. Next, the robe dyeing rite and, the following day, the rites ending the dress and dietary mourning take place.

Un buffle est immolé. Le défunt est descendu hors de la maison et déposé sur le catafalque du côté du couchant. Il est entouré de femmes qui se lamentent et de quelques hommes qui dansent le badong. Puis c’est le départ vers la sépulture et la mise au tombeau : les participants consomment sur place la viande du porc sacrifié avant l’ouverture du tombeau. Ensuite, ont lieu le rite de teinture des habits et le lendemain les rites de levée des deuils alimentaires et vestimentaires (Koubi 1982 : 249). (French)

Seekor kerbau disembelih. Mendiang diturunkan dari rumah dan diletakkan pada saringan (usungan) yang terletak di sebelah barat. Mendiang dikelilingi oleh kaum wanita yang meratap serta beberapa lelaki yang menarikan badong. Sesudah itu mendiang diarak ke makam. Mereka yang hadir terlebih dahulu makan masakan daging babi yang baru saja disembelih, sebelum pintu makam dibuka. Sesudah itu, ritus penghitaman pakaian ma’bolong dilaksanakan. Baru pada keesokan harinyalah, ritus pengakhiran masa berkabung, berupa penghentian pantang makanan dan pakaian tertentu dilaksanakan(Koubi, 1982: 249). (Mamaindé)
