Au début de la fête, le chant est énoncé en face de la maison. Il est mi-déclamé, mi-chanté par l’officiant, et ponctuée par le chœur qui entrecoupe la déclamation du soliste tous les dix vers environ avec une tenue en bourdon fleuri. Certaines fois, l’officiant laisse les chanteurs libres de chanter quelques strophes de leur choix puis poursuit la déclamation du poème samparan.

At the beginning of the celebration the song is performed facing the house. It is half recited and half sung by the officiant, and punctuated by the chorus, which interrupts the soloist's declamation with a sustained ornate drone approximately every ten verses.
