Trois types de chants du rituel maro sont présentés : le chant de l’être-en-divinité, narrant la guérison des personnes malades par le sang, les chants des danseurs pendant les transes (chants des hommes et chants des femmes) et enfin les chants de cuisine, extrait du mythe de 15 000 vers déclamés par les officiants dans les maisons du village, pendant les six jours du rituel.

Three different gelong maro songs are presented here: the song of “being-in-divinity”, concerning the healing of those in trance who have been scarified, the songs of the dancers (male and female) during the trance, and finally the kitchen songs, taken from the myth of 15,000 lines and declaimed by the officiants from within the village houses over the course of the six-day ritual.
